The philosophy

One of the most important aspects for us was to make sure that the material of the children’s furniture should be made of natural solid wood, since in our world today, which is full of plastic, children are more attracted to natural materials such as wood.

The famous pedagogue and psychologist Maria Montessori* realized that small children are frustrated by an adult-sized environment, so she had made child-sized furniture hat was light enough for the children to move and push them on their own. By being able to do their tasks themselves, they became more confident and their self-esteem increased. Our goal is also the same as the Montessori philosophy: to help children to develop their own sense of independence with these small furniture. As well as to feel competent and emotionally balanced which can lead them to become independent, confident and successful adults.

„It is not the child who should adapt to the environment, but rather we should adapt the environment to the child. “ (Maria Montessori)

According to the Montessori philosophy, providing the right stimuli in the early years is especially important, as children’s brains develop at their fastest rate during the first six years.

If children are exposed to the right stimuli during the sensitive period, in other words between the ages of 0 and 6, children learn almost unconsciously.

“Everything they learn in this early period will be decisive later on.” (Maria Montessori)
